The North Manchester Department of Public Safety is located at 709 West Main Street in North Manchester. The Department consists of the North Manchester Police, Fire and Dispatch Departments.

With all three Departments housed in one location, it provides easy access for the citizens of North Manchester. The new Safety Complex (finished in January, 1999) affords the Police, Fire and Dispatch Departments a state of the art facility to conduct day-to-day business, training and meetings.

The North Manchester Police Department is a part of the North Manchester Department of Public Safety. Eleven full time officers staff the Department. The Town Marshall is Dave Young. He can be reached at (260) 982-8555, Ext. 307. The Department has one Sergeant: Sergeant Jeff Perry. An active reserve police unit is staffed by four officers, and is coordinated by Officer Steve Olsen. Information pertaining to the reserve unit can be obtained by calling (260) 982-8555.

The North Manchester Fire Department is part of the North Manchester Department of Public Safety. The Department is located at 709 West Main Street in North Manchester, Indiana. Bill Morris is the Chief of Fire Operations and can be reached at (260) 982-8555, Ext. 320. Three full time drivers and 22 volunteers staff the North Manchester Fire Department. The full time drivers work a 24-hour on and 48-hour off schedule. Four volunteers work on a part-time basis as relief drivers. The North Manchester Fire Department has applications for volunteer positions available at the station.

Four full time dispatchers staff the North Manchester Public Safety Dispatch Department, working eight-hour shifts. The Department also employs two part time dispatchers who work on an as-needed basis. The Dispatch Center is responsible for dispatching Police, Fire and EMS calls. The Center has the capability of two dispatchers working simultaneously, answering emergency calls and dispatching emergency personnel. The Center is equipped with NCIC/IDACS capabilities, providing important information promptly to police officers. Linda Kissinger is the supervisor of the Dispatch Center. Randi Tobias is the NCIC/IDACS Coordinator/Trainer for the Department. The Center also acts as the clerical and reception area for the Public Safety Complex.
