Parks and Facilities

North Manchester Parks and Recreation Office is located with in Strauss Peabody Aquatic and Fitness Center, 902 N. Market. Phone (260) 982-4919.

Strauss Peabody Aquatic and Fitness Center, 902 N. Market and features a fully loaded fitness center which contains Treadmills, Bikes, Precore Weight Machines as well as a Smith Press Machine. The center has a full size competitive swimming pool, a warm water therapy pool, indoor water slide, whirlpool, steam room and sauna.

Warvel Park is situated on Market Street between 7th and 9th Streets. Its 10 acres contain two picnic shelters, other picnic areas with tables and grills, gazebo, excellent playground equipment, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts and the Scout Hall with a kitchen and dining area. The Scout Hall may be rented for family reunions, receptions and meetings. The Gazebo can also be rented and makes a lovely setting for a wedding. The Pavilions are also available for rent.

Harter’s Grove a 2.3 acre addition developed as a nature preserve with a 1/4 mile walking trail.

Frantz Park is located on the west end of town between Crestview and Meadowdale drives. This 1.2 acre neighborhood park contains playground equipment, a picnic area, and a 1/2 court basketball area.

Halderman Park is the site of a former Civil War era cemetery and the historic Thomas Marshall birthplace, and a memorial display for veterans and those individuals who were once buried at the site. It is located at 603 N. Market St.

Thomas Marshall Park is located at the intersection of 7th and Bond Streets.

Glenn W. Ruppel Park and Recreation Complex is just north of the Manchester High School on Market St. It houses 4 ball diamonds, basketball courts, playground area, parking lot and concession stand. This park was dedicated in 1992 and is the home of our summer baseball program organized by the Manchester Recreation Association.
