North Manchester Parks and Recreation Department Facilities
Glenn W. Ruppel Recreation Complex is just north of the Manchester High School on Market St. It houses 4 ball diamonds, a basketball courts, playground area, parking lot and concession stand. This newest park was dedicated in 1992 and is the home of our summer baseball program organized by the
Manchester Recreation Association.
Seward Memorial Building is located west of the pool complex on 9th Street and used primarily as a meeting and community activity room. This building can also be rented out for family reunions, anniversary celebrations and wedding/baby showers. It is carpeted, air conditioned and handicap accessible.
Community Pool Complex is a year-round, indoor facility housing a 25 yd. length pool, a sauna, whirlpool, fitness room, locker and shower facilities, sand volleyball pit and a basketball court. The pool is located at 902 N. Market Street and is open to the public on daily rate basis or by membership.

Warvel Park is situated on Market Street between 7th and 9th Streets. Its 10 acres contain 2 picnic shelters, picnic areas with tables and grills, a natural amphitheatre, gazebo, excellent playground equipment, horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts and the scout hall with kitchen and dining area. The Scout Hall can be rented out for family reunions, receptions and meetings. The gazebo can also be rented and makes a lovely setting for a wedding. A new 2 acre addition, donated by Mary K. Peabody, is currently being developed as a nature preserve with trails and tree and plant identification.
Frantz Park is located on the west end of town between Crestview and Meadowdale Drives. This 1.2 acre neighborhood park contains playground equipment and a picnic area.
Halderman Park is the site of a former Civil War era cemetery. This passive-use park includes a rose garden, the historic Thomas Marshall birthplace which is currently being restored and a memorial display for veterans and those individuals who were once buried at the site. It is located at 603 N. Market Street.
Town Life Center is located at the intersection of 7th & Bond
Streets. Our gym, activity room and conference room are available for
family dinners, reunions and parties. The Thomas Marshall Town Life Center is home to many programs sponsored by Manchester Area
Programs, as well as community activities and workshops. Long-term tenants include
the Garber-Simmons Adult Center, Learn More, Manchester Early Learning Center, L.I.F.E., Shepherd's Center, WIC, Wabash County Cancer Society, Disabilities
Resource Network, Mental Health Association, TOPS, Meals on Wheels, and Nancy's
Massage Therapy. Tenants must be contacted directly.
Community Service of North Manchester, Inc. is located in
Suite 1 and oversees operation of the building. Phone (260) 982-6115 for rental or program information.
Manchester Area Programs is located within the Town Life Center.
M.A.P. provides quality programming at affordable rates for all ages - 4 through
adult! Recreation, fitness and education. MAP - we'll get you where

Manchester Recreation Association is located within the Town Life
Center. The MRA organizes the summer's baseball and softball programs for
ages 4 through adult. The MRA hopes to expand in the next year by
including other recreational activities for youth and adults. With more than 1000 participants
in our baseball and softball programs, this program is
the largest sports program in town. Office phone
